UK Chilled Food Manufacturer

As a result of a change in company strategy, the client needed to totally transform its group procurement function into a centre-led team across 6 manufacturing sites nationwide. A total of 18 new roles were identified and the recruitment process included the assessment of internal “at risk” employees alongside external candidates.

Bennell Associates worked with the client to develop a programme and an internal communication strategy to identify and recruit 18 individuals over a period of 6 weeks from date of communication. This included developing the entire process; identification strategy, development of a rigorous valid and reliable assessment process and training internal assessors.

Candidate identification strategy included adverts in national and trade press, internet advertising as well as the management of third party recruitment providers.

Selected candidates completed online ability tests and rigorous telephone interviews prior to assessment centres. Six assessment days were held over a period of two weeks (just before Christmas). Bennell Associates managed internal and external candidate “experience”, booking hotels and travel, as well as organising, managing and facilitating the assessment centres themselves.

Lucy Bennell maintained close contact with successful candidates, advising and giving assistance with relocation where necessary, during their resignation periods. All new starters joined on the same day in early March. The project included involvement in induction training design and attending a welcome dinner.
